About the Class: We know it’s a classic, ubiquitous & beautiful, but what are some reasons to use rose? What are the medicinal qualities? What can we do with rose and how can we make our own herbal products? This class is not limited to aromatherapy and beauty products. We will make an elixir or glycerine as well as talk about using it as food and get some tips on blending it into teas. Although we will be making things it will be an information rich class as well.


About the Facilitator: Heather Irvine teaches for two herbal programs in Vermont. At the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism, she teaches Herbal Actions and basic Phytochemistry. She had an herbal product business for 10 years, with 200-300 simple single plant extracts and some oils and salves. In 2002, she began 2 years at the Norheast School of Botanical Medicine and in 2007, she began two years at the herb school she now teaches for. She recently moved to the area and is starting to launch her career here in Massachusetts.
