Community Change Inc. (CCI), the oldest continuously operating anti-racism organization in the United States, will be celebrating its 50th year on June 8 in an event titled “Honoring Our Past, Changing Our Future” at Hibernian Hall in Roxbury—with Tarana Burke, a founder and leader of the #MeToo movement, as one of the keynote speakers.

It will be a night of music, food, celebration, and reflection as we honor the work CCI has done over the last half-century. We will also unveil our plans for the future. The event comes at a particularly emotional and reflective time, not only because of the racial tensions and high-profile discussions of race relations in America today but also in the wake of the recent passing of CCI’s founder, Horace Seldon. We are thrilled that we will be joined by emcee Dr. Atyia Martin in addition to keynote speakers Tarana Burke, a longtime movement leader in addition to her “Me Too” work, and Tim Wise, the prominent anti-racist essayist, educator and author.
